Reviews from previous students

"Susan Clinard is categorically the most compelling and inspirational teacher I have ever had the fortune to study under. The combination of her ability to visualize shape and form in three dimensions and her talent to connect that vision to her students is her true gift as a teacher. There are many who can sculpt and many who teach, but rare is the individual, like Susan, who is so driven to do both brilliantly. Her sparkle and delightful personality round out this perfection of a teacher." Jeffrey Breslow

"Susan makes the environment in her studio supportive yet challenging, organized but creative, and just plain fun. She surrounds herself with serious, but friendly people who cause the studio to be greater than the sum of its parts. Taking a course with Susan is an experience that will open the door to greater accomplishments and make you see things in ways that you hadn't seen before." Dr. Larry Pinto

"Susan Clinard is both a masterful sculptural artist and teacher. She is very supportive and offered affirmative positive directions in a way that helped me progress well beyond my expectations." Dr. Paul Lindholm

"Clinard has a special gift of making her classroom an enjoyable relaxing, and amazing place for ANYONE to learn and discover their own artistic talents. She loves what she does and it shows through her teachings as she passes on this wonderful glow and soothing energy to her students." Lilia Delgado

"She seeks truth and beauty and has an enormous depth of understanding for both, which is reflected, in her art as well as in the art of the students who study with her; her willingness to share her excitement for life, her deep and abiding understanding of the past, and her willingness to share her remarkable talents with others." Karly Spell, Dir. Art Casting of Illinois

"I have never had a teacher who gave so much of her time, energy, and creativity; Susan's classes ranged from teaching the basics of sculpting, to unique learning experiences such as those focused on hands, feet, portraits, and patinas, designed with the intention of helping us to become well-rounded sculptors." Kathy Maras

"In my experience as a student of sculpture, I have never met anyone as creative and inspiring. She has a unique gift of being able to communicate her thoughts into clear and understandable language that you can grow from." Greg Klitz
