The theory of epigenetics and intergenerational trauma reveals how trauma – and resilience, strength and healing – can be passed down through generations. Life experiences leave imprints on the way our genes function, changes that are then inherited by our children. I was deeply inspired by the idea that we carry some biological trace of our ancestors’ pain and triumphs alike. This concept holds a profound emotional appeal, as it connects us, builds empathy, and ultimately fosters collective healing.
